Borgo delle Tovaglie has been hand-making linens in a Bologna atelier since 2005, run today by Valentina Muggia and Giuliano Di Paolo. The edge is a fringe - long, dense, knotted i n the colours of the cloth itself. It is not a finish meant to disappear. It catches the light, it moves with the air, it gives weight to the drape. Borgo Delle Tovaglie's Ludo carries the same chintz-tradition florals as Erica: large-scale stylised blooms and foliage, in the lineage of the palampores India sent to Europe in the seventeenth century. Where Erica meets the floor with two parallel bands of openwork, Ludo meets the floor with a fringe. Offered in two colourways: a deep petrol blue with ochre, and a near-black with rust. Show more
