Ludwigia rubin is a handsome red Ludwigia cultivar producing lance-shaped leaves in ruby-red to burgundy that develop most strongly under medium to bright light and CO2. Its uprigh t stem growth and vivid colouration make it a popular midground to background plant in planted aquariums where a reliable, manageable red stem species is needed.It performs best with CO2 supplementation and medium to bright light for compact growth and sustained red colouration. Without CO2 it remains growable but tends toward olive-green and looser growth. Iron-rich fertilisation and regular trimming encourage the most vibrant, compact new growth and prevent the plant from becoming leggy.Supplied as an established potted plant, Ludwigia rubin suits aquariums from 50 litres upward.
