Lakpura® Ridge Gourd / Wetakolu (Luffa acutangula), also known as Turai or Chinese okra, is a highly nutritious tropical vegetable valued for its tender, ridged dark green fruit. R ich in vitamins A and C, potassium, zinc, riboflavin, and antioxidants, it supports digestion, boosts immunity, and promotes heart health. With its natural “cooling” properties, it is widely used in Ayurvedic diets and is ideal for weight management and overall wellness. This versatile vegetable is best consumed when young and tender, commonly prepared in curries, soups, stir-fries, and chutneys across Asian cuisine. Ridge gourd is a fast-growing annual climbing vine that thrives in well-drained soil (pH 5.5–6.8), full sun, and consistent moisture with trellis support. Show more
