Hand painted jigsaw puzzle piece Ponderosa Pine bark in a 19" x 15" repurposed gold and black velvet frame. These jigsaw puzzle shaped pieces of bark help to protect from environme ntal threats such as insects and a low-intensity, surface fire. In January of 2025, the wildfires in Southern California and the devastating aftermath were on my mind. While working on the piece, I added ash to represent the loss.
