Luzonite is the rarer polymorph of copper arsenic sulphide in comparison with Enargite. Named after Luzon Island in the Phillipines where it was first discovered, most of the world's best crystallized specimens have come from Taiwan, from Pen-Shan Ore Body at Chinkuashih mine. This large miniature specimen from the comprehensive systematic collection assembled by brothers Martin and Michael Günther (1951-2007 & 1956-2021) is a classic from this long closed locality. Almost completely crystallized Luzonite - perhaps with a core of Enargite - the Luzonite crystals are aggregated small equant pseudo-octahedra and display the classic gun-metal grey to pinkish-grey colour and metallic lustre. A fine, richly crystallized example of this very rare sulphosalt species.
