LV8 is a honey fig from this collection. The figs have green and purple skin and grow in a drop shape. Inside is an amber pulp that may have hints of red in the center. The combination of amber and red can also give the pulp a brownish hue. While most describe LV8 as having a simple honey flavor, some tasters also note banana flavor in the pulp. LV8 trees ripen both a breba and a main crop of figs. Depending on growing conditions, the breba may ripen in June while the main crop ripens in August. In addition to green and purple figs, LV8 trees produce 5-lobed leaves with small waves on the edges. Non-Rooted Cuttings(November/December): We begin to ship cuttings once the trees are dormant and in a shippable state. Exact timing is weather dependent, but we usually start in November. Shipping continues throughout the winter and early spring. We stop shipping when the trees begin to break dormancy, normally around mid-March. **All non-rooted cuttings ship between November and March regardless of the date selected during checkout. Orders placed during our pre-sale period(October/November) will ship out first in November/December. If you are rooting your cuttings in the spring, our cuttings can be kept in the refrigerator until you are ready to root them. They will be perfectly fine. That is what we do and they've turned into our most impressive trees. Rooted Cuttings(Spring): We begin shipping rooted cuttings once they are mature enough to ship. The shipping period typically begins late April and continues into June. Regardless of the date you select during checkout, we will ship when ready during that span.
