The symbolism of this patch is deeply rooted in ancient Easter n, Greek, and Egyptian civilizations. At the center is the Caduceus — a winged staff entwined by two serpents. Since the 19th century, it has symbolized medicine and is often seen as a key that opens the boundary between darkness and light, good and evil, life and death.
