Description The M5Stack ATOMIC RS232 Base is a TTL-to-RS232 level conversion base for ATOM series controllers. SKU M5-A136 is supplied as the RS232 base only, without an ATOM Lite or other ATOM host. It helps ATOM projects communicate with RS232 industrial equipment, serial instruments, legacy controllers, PLC-related devices, and peripheral systems that use the RS-232 serial communication standard. The ATOMIC RS232 Base uses a MAX232 level conversion chip for bidirectional TTL-RS232 conversion and full-duplex serial communication. It also integrates an A0Z1282CI DC-DC step-down regulator, allowing an external 12V supply to be converted to 5V for powering the connected ATOM controller. The VH-3.96 4P external port provides a robust wiring interface for RS232 signal and power connections. Features M5Stack ATOMIC RS232 Base, SKU M5-A136, for ATOM series RS232 serial communication projects. Base only: ATOM Lite, ATOM Matrix, ATOMS3, or other ATOM host is not included. MAX232 level conversion chip supports bidirectional TTL-to-RS232 and RS232-to-TTL conversion. Full-duplex RS232 communication for industrial control nodes, serial equipment, instruments, and automation devices. Integrated A0Z1282CI DC-DC step-down regulator supports 12V-to-5V power conversion for ATOM power supply. VH-3.96 4P external terminal for RS232 wiring and field installation. PinMap includes 3V3, UART_TX, UART_RX, 5V, and GND for ATOM host connection. Compatible with M5Stack ATOM series hosts and supported by Arduino, UiFlow1, and UiFlow2 workflows. Product List 1 x M5Stack ATOMIC RS232 Base, SKU M5-A136 1 x HT3.96-4P terminal connector Other Content RS-232 defines electrical characteristics and signaling for serial communication between computers, controllers, instruments, and peripheral devices. The M5Stack ATOMIC RS232 Base converts ATOM UART-level signals through MAX232 so an ATOM host can communicate with RS232 devices. Use the correct TX, RX, GND, and power wiring before connecting field equipment. The M5-A136 ATOMIC RS232 Base does not include an ATOM controller. Pair it with a compatible ATOM host and use the official Arduino or UiFlow resources to build RS232 send/receive tests, serial bridges, or industrial control nodes. No. M5-A136 is the M5Stack ATOMIC RS232 Base only. ATOM Lite, ATOM Matrix, ATOMS3, or another compatible ATOM host must be purchased separately. What chip handles the TTL-RS232 conversion? The ATOMIC RS232 Base uses the MAX232 level conversion chip for bidirectional TTL-RS232 conversion. Can this base power the ATOM from 12V? Yes. The built-in A0Z1282CI DC-DC regulator supports stepping an external 12V supply down to 5V for the connected ATOM controller. What is the connector type? The external port is VH-3.96 4P. Confirm TX, RX, GND, and power wiring before connecting an RS232 device.
