Description The Module Fan v1.1 is a Fan Module for the M5Stack stacking system. Built with an STM32F030F4P6 microcontroller, the Module Fan v1.1 uses I2C control to read fan speed, adjust PWM output, and improve thermal performance in stacked embedded devices. This Fan Module is a practical cooling layer for stack projects that need software-controlled airflow. This Fan Module is designed for cooling M5Stack devices, smart hardware, and compact embedded systems that need controlled airflow. The Module Fan v1.1 supports stall protection and reaches 11500 RPM +/-10%, making the Fan Module suitable for projects where heat management and programmable fan speed are both important. Notice: If the fan is stalled by foreign objects, it can resume operation automatically after the obstruction is removed. Prolonged stalling may damage the fan or cause burnout, so blockages should be cleared promptly and the fan should be kept operating normally. The air intake of the Module Fan v1.1 is located at the bottom of the module. For best cooling performance, stack the Fan Module on top of the module that requires cooling. FG_OUT is the fan speed waveform output pin, and PWM is the fan speed control pin. On the STM32F030F4P6, PA6 maps to FanCtr, PA7 maps to FG_OUT, PA9 maps to SCL, and PA10 maps to SDA. On the M5-Bus, the Module Fan v1.1 uses SDA on pin 17 and SCL on pin 18 for I2C communication. Compared with the earlier Module Fan, the Module Fan v1.1 adds I2C communication, speed feedback, and speed control. The Fan Module also increases the rated speed from 7500 RPM +/-10% to 11500 RPM +/-10%. The Module Fan v1.1 is used to cool M5Stack stacked systems and other compact embedded devices that need controlled airflow. Can the Fan Module control speed? Yes. The Fan Module supports fan speed reading and PWM speed control through I2C communication. What should I do if the fan is blocked? Remove the obstruction as soon as possible. The Module Fan v1.1 can resume after the obstruction is removed, but long stalls may damage the fan. Where should the Module Fan v1.1 Fan Module be installed? Because the air intake is on the bottom, place the Module Fan v1.1 Fan Module above the module that needs cooling for better airflow.
