Description M5Stack M5StampS3A with 2.54mm header pin is a compact embedded module based on Espressif ESP32-S3FN8. It integrates a 240MHz Xtensa 32-bit LX7 dual-core processor, 8MB Flash, 2.4GHz Wi-Fi, a programmable RGB LED, and a programmable physical button in a small Stamp form factor. The module breaks out 23 GPIO pins on 2.54mm pitch SMT headers, making it convenient for breadboard-style prototyping, DIP integration, flying-wire tests, and compact PCB designs. M5Stack M5StampS3A uses an optimized 2.4GHz 3D antenna for improved wireless reception. It also reserves a rear TFT screen SPI interface, supports multiple peripheral interfaces from ESP32-S3, and is suitable for developers who need a small Wi-Fi controller module for smart home nodes, IoT devices, industrial terminals, and wearable prototypes. Notes ESP32-S3 G0 and G46 are system boot mode control pins. G0 uses pull-up by default, and G46 uses internal pull-down by default, allowing the chip to start normally from SPI Flash. Do not pull G46 high before the chip starts; otherwise, the module may fail to boot. A TFT screen SPI interface is reserved on the back of the module, with compatible FPC connector specifications of 8PIN and 12PIN. Features ESP32-S3FN8 platform: the module provides a 240MHz dual-core processor with integrated 8MB Flash. 2.54mm header interface: soldered SMT headers make the module easier to prototype and integrate into carrier boards. 23 multifunction GPIO: exposes G0-G15, G39-G44, and G46 for flexible peripheral connection. Multiple interfaces: supports touch sensor, SPI, SDIO, EMAC, motor PWM, LED PWM, UART, I2C, I2S, GPIO, and pulse counter functions. Built-in interaction: includes one programmable physical button and one WS2812B-2020 programmable RGB LED. Optimized wireless design: the 2.4GHz 3D antenna helps maintain better signal reception than the previous Stamp-S3 design. Development workflows: supports UiFlow2, Arduino IDE, ESP-IDF, and PlatformIO. Product Comparison RGB LED Control Logic This version shares RGB LED power with the reserved screen FPC cable backlight; Stamp-S3 powers the RGB LED immediately when powered. Antenna Design This version uses an optimized antenna design for better signal reception. Module Boot Button The boot button has improved feel with a 4.0 x 3.0 x 2.0mm button specification. Power Consumption This version is optimized for lower power consumption compared with the standard Stamp-S3 design. M5Stack M5StampS3A uses an optimized antenna design, improved boot button, and lower-power design while keeping the 2.54mm header format. Can M5Stack M5StampS3A be used for breadboard-style prototyping? Yes. The 2.54mm pitch header format is convenient for DIP-style prototyping, carrier boards, and quick embedded tests. Which development tools are supported? It supports UiFlow2, Arduino IDE, ESP-IDF, and PlatformIO development workflows. Which pins need extra care during boot? G0 and G46 are ESP32-S3 boot mode control pins. Do not pull G46 high before startup, or the chip may fail to boot.
