Description M5Stack Microphone Unit (LM393), also known as Unit MIC, is a compact sound sensor module for M5Stack projects. It combines an omnidirectional electret microphone with a MAX4466 microphone preamplifier to help suppress power-supply noise and common-mode noise while providing high-fidelity sound output in noisy environments. The module supports both analog and digital signal output, making it useful for audio sampling, sound-to-electricity conversion, and sound-activated control. The M5Stack Microphone Unit (LM393) also integrates an LM393 dual voltage comparator. By adjusting the onboard 10K potentiometer, users can set the comparison-voltage threshold for digital trigger output while still using the analog signal for waveform or sound-level processing. This makes the M5Stack Microphone Unit (LM393) suitable for prototyping audio interaction, voice switch projects, and compact IoT sound detection systems. Features Sound sampling and audio recording: captures environmental sound for audio input and detection projects. MAX4466 preamplifier: improves microphone signal output and helps reduce power-supply and common-mode noise. Omnidirectional microphone: provides 52dB sensitivity for broad sound pickup around the module. Analog and digital outputs: supports waveform-level processing and threshold-based trigger detection. LM393 threshold control: includes a voltage comparator and adjustable potentiometer for digital trigger tuning. M5Stack development workflow: supports Arduino and UIFlow development with the HY2.0-4P interface. Compact mounting: includes 2 LEGO-compatible holes for quick integration into prototypes and fixtures.
