Please note Wire thread inserts cannot be measured in their free state as they expand upon installation. Once correctly installed, these inserts will have a fitted length of 16mm less the ½ pitch allowance needed to ensure the insert’s effectiveness. The only way to measure an insert before installing it is to count how many coils it has. An M8x1.25x2D insert should have between 9.9 - 10.9 coils.
