The M97 is a 500 Series microphone preamp that blends modern clarity with a touch of vintage character, making it a versatile addition to any recording setup. Designed and built in the USA, it centers around a discrete op amp paired with custom-wound input and output transformers, delivering a full, detailed sound while allowing subtle coloration when desired. Its overall character can shift from clean and precise to more harmonically rich, depending on how it is driven. With up to 64 dB of gain and a variable output attenuator, the M97 gives you control over how the signal is shaped, letting you push the output stage for added depth without sacrificing balance. Thoughtful controls such as stepped gain, pad, polarity, and phantom power make it easy to adapt to different microphones and sources. High-quality components throughout ensure consistent performance, making the M97 a reliable choice for capturing vocals, instruments, and more with both accuracy and musicality. Show more
