A bedroom bench is a low-profile upholstered or solid seating piece typically placed at the foot of the bed, in an entryway, or along a bedroom wall. It provides additional seating, a surface for laying out clothing, and can anchor the visual balance of a bedroom suite without requiring the footprint of an accent chair. What You Get With the Currey & Co Mabel Steel Frame Bedroom Bench Generous Seating Width -- 55 inches of usable seat width accommodates two adults comfortably or serves as a staging surface for bedding and wardrobe. Performance Fabric Upholstery -- woven brown-beige blend (88% polyester, 6% viscose, 6% cotton) resists daily wear while maintaining a refined aesthetic. Polished Brass Accents -- stainless steel ball feet and arm details provide a modern counterpoint to the antique black frame finish. Arched Stretchers -- structural steel arches connect the legs and add architectural interest beneath the upholstered seat. Adjustable Glides -- floor-protection hardware allows micro-leveling on uneven surfaces and prevents scratching. Textured Steel Frame -- hand-applied light gold rub over the antique black finish adds subtle dimension under ambient lighting. Where Should a Bedroom Bench Sit? Place the Mabel bench at the foot of a king or queen bed, leaving 12--18 inches of clearance between the mattress edge and the bench back for comfortable bedmaking. Its 63-inch width also suits bedroom furniture arrangements along a wall beneath a window or as a transitional piece between bedroom bench and entryway use. Pair with accent chairs to create a cohesive seating vignette in a primary suite. Frequently Asked Questions What size bench do I need for a king bed? For a standard king bed (76 inches wide), a bench measuring 60--72 inches wide provides proportional visual balance; this 63-inch model suits that range. How long should an end of bed bench be for a queen bed? A queen bed (60 inches wide) pairs well with a bench 48--63 inches long; this bench at 63 inches offers full coverage while fitting queen-scale bedrooms. Can a bedroom bench be used in an entryway? Yes, upholstered benches transition well to entryways for seating while putting on shoes or setting down handbags, provided the width fits the space. How high should an end of bed bench be? Most bed frames sit 24--26 inches high; this bench measures 24.25 inches (seat height approximately 18--19 inches), ensuring the top clears standard bed-rail heights. What fabric is best for an upholstered bedroom bench? Performance fabrics with high polyester content (like the Mabel's 88% polyester blend) resist pilling, fading, and staining better than natural fibers in daily-use environments.
