Machine Vision Camera Housing
Machine Vision Camera housing Our machine vision camera housing protects different machine vision camera brands as Daheng Imaging, FLIR, IDS Imaging, Allied Vision, Basler and many other brands against moisture and dust. The lens settings can no longer be adjusted by operators anymore. The enclosure has been tested in IP67 conditions with our GigE, USB3 and I/O cables. It is the most affordable machine vision camera housing on the market. The Machine Vision Camera housing has no branding on it. Create brand awareness by labelling the housing with your own company logo. With our industrial machine vision camera enclosure your machine vision solution will get more robust. We developed this user-friendly, compact, and high-quality machine vision camera housing to protect your camera and lens. The camera enclosure protects your machine vision camera in humid and dusty environments. The enclosure has been tested in IP67 conditions and is additionally used as general protection for the camera and lens. IP67 waterproof enclosure The enclosure has been developed to be dustproof, waterproof, and protected against immersion up to 1 meter deep for 30 minutes. The enclosure features a two-piece sealing concept: for the body and the lens (front cap). The enclosure concept is based on 1 part aluminum and 1 part industrial polymer. The aluminum part of the machine vision housing serves as a heatsink, this ensures that the heat is dissipated from the camera. At an ambient temperature above 35 degrees, it is mandatory to attach the camera enclosure to a metal profile to further dissipate the heat. The glass in the front cap of the enclosure transmits frequencies between 400 and 1000 nm. Modular Camera Housing: Adjustable Lens Length with Extension Rings The front cap section of the housing is modular so that different lens length can be used. Each enclosure will be delivered including a 20mm front cap and two 15mm extension rings. This allows the enclosure length to be adapted to different lens lengths. Lens length is measured from the front of the C-mount camera to the front of the lens. Maximum Supported Lens Diameter is 40mm. With the standard package and included extension rings, the following lens lengths are possible. - no extension ring, max lens length 15mm- 15mm extension ring, max lens length 30mm- 15mm + 15mm extension ring, max lens length 45mm (if the camera has a shorter C mount thread, a slightly longer lens up to 51mm can be supported) Additionally, you have the option to buy the extension rings: - VA-ACC-MVEC-167-IP-TUBEx1, one extra 15mm extension ring to support a lens length of max 60mm- VA-ACC-MVEC-167-IP-TUBEx2, two extra 15mm extension rings to support a lens length of max 75mm- VA-ACC-MVEC-167-IP-TUBEx3, three extra 15mm extension rings to support a lens length of max 90mm- VA-ACC-MVEC-167-IP-TUBEx4, four extra 15mm extension rings to support a lens length of max 105mm The supported lens length depends partly on the length of the camera's C-mount thread. Cameras with a shorter C-mount thread can accommodate a slightly longer lens while maintaining the required positioning within the housing. For example, our ME2S and MER3 cameras have a C-mount thread that is 5 mm shorter than the threads on the MER, MER2, and ME2P cameras. When using standard enclosure with 2 × 15 mm extension rings, the maximum supported lens length is therefore: - ME2S, MER3, or cameras with similar C-mount thread dimensions: up to 51 mm - MER, MER2, and ME2P: 45mm , due to their longer C-mount thread This modular approach with extension rings allows the housing to be adapted to different camera and lens combinations while maintaining a secure and protected camera setup. Note: In the event of damage to the original front cap, there is no need to replace the complete camera housing. The damaged front section can be replaced separately. The spare front cap is available: VA-ACC-MVEC-167-IP-FRONTCAP. This accessory can also be purchased together with the camera housing. The camera housing vent rapidly equalize the pressures while blocking water and contaminants. It ensures that the air pressure is the same inside the enclosure as outside. This prevents gaskets from leaking. USB3 or GigE cable entry. Waterproof termination on the cable (tested with our USB3 and GigE Cables), eliminating the need for expensive IP67 cables. You can use our standard cable. However, our Highflex cables are excluded. The camera housing is provided with a cable gland for an I / O cable (as standard this is closed with a plug). The camera housing has a front cap. The front cap can be extended by placing extension rings. This makes it possible to adjust the length of the front cap to the lens you are using. Two 15mm extension rings are supplied with the enclosure. The front cap of the enclosure is easy and quick to mount / dismount due to the bayonet fitting (turn a small turn to the right). Many machine vision camera brands (size 29x29mm) are supported in the enclosure, like AVT, Flir, Basler, IDS and Daheng Imaging. One housing / article number for all brands of cameras. 3 adapter plates and 2 front cap rings are supplied per housing, so that you can always fit the enclosure. Excellent price / quality ratio. Adapter plates for Basler, FLIR, AVT, IDS and many more cameras Standard we include 3 different mounting plates, type1, type2 and type3. Depending on the camera model, you only need to use one of these adapter plates. Beside Daheng Imaging we also support Basler, FLIR, Allied Vision (AVT), IDS Imaging and many other 29x29mm camera models. Daheng Imaging camera enclosure Our camera housing is fully compatible with the 29 × 29 mm camera range from Daheng Imaging, including the MER, MER2, MER3, ME2S, and ME2P series. Daheng cameras can typically be identified by their type number, which starts with MER2 or MER3. The housing supports cameras with USB3, GigE, and GigE with PoE interfaces. For all Daheng Imaging cameras, Adapter Plate Type 1 is required. The camera enclosure provides additional protection for your Daheng Imaging camera. Lens Compatibility: All of our C-mount lenses with a diameter of less than 40 mm are compatible with the housing In additon, our wide-angle 4 mm lens can be accomodated too. For M12 wide-angle lenses, such as our 3.3 mm lens, the camera needs to be positioned closer to the front cap. In this configuration, the camera can only be secured with one screw. In this case, we recommend using adhesive tape to ensure that the camera remains securely positioned and correctly aligned. For Daheng Imaging cameras and our VA lenses, the VA-MVEC Series datasheet includes a detailed compatibility matrix. This matrix shows the supported camera models, available lens configurations, and the corresponding housing suitability. Compatibility with Third-Party Cameras The VA-MVEC-167-IP enclosures are compatible with cameras from manufacturers such as Allied Vision, JAI, FLIR, Basler, IDS, and others. Compatibility depends on factors including the enclosure model, camera dimensions, mounting arrangement, lens dimensions, and cabling requirements. If you are unsure whether your camera and lens setup is compatible with a VA-MVEC enclosure, or need help selecting the right enclosure, please refer to our article, “How to Check Compatibility of VA-MVEC Enclosures with Third-Party Cameras and Lenses” Basler camera housing The camera housing supports 29x29mm Basler cameras.
