These timeless stud earrings pay homage to the geometric tilework on a washstand (1904) by Charles Rennie Mackintosh (British, 1868–1928). Guided by the philosophy that art and architecture are intertwined, Mackintosh envisioned wonderfully original designs derived from the traditional styles of his native Scotland. The washstand, which is exemplary of Mackintosh's creative prowess at the height of his career, was crafted as part of a remodeling project for an 18th-century residence called Hous'hill.
