This must be a very common colour in Mayfly spinners as it seems to abound in Tasmanian rivers and lakes, the Australian mainland and New Zealand's South Island. Being common it co mes in many hook sizes. If there are spinners in the air there are generally trout rising for the female spinner as she egg lays on the water surface.
