MacuSAVE is built around the three carotenoids found in the macula of the eye, and the inclusion of one of them is the reason people look for it specifically. Each capsule supplies 10mg of meso-zeaxanthin, 10mg of lutein and 2mg of zeaxanthin, from 453mg of marigold extract, together with 0.35mg of vitamin B2 and 3mg of vitamin E. Riboflavin contributes to the maintenance of normal vision.Meso-zeaxanthin is the one to note: many eye formulas contain only lutein and zeaxanthin, and it is significantly more expensive to include, so its presence at 10mg is the practical difference between this and a cheaper lutein product. The base is soya oil with refined coconut oil, in a bovine gelatin shell coloured with iron oxides. That makes it unsuitable for vegetarians, and it contains soya.Take one capsule every day, with food and water. Do not exceed the recommended daily dose.At one a day the 90-capsule pack covers three months.A food supplement is not a substitute for a varied diet, and is not a replacement for regular sight tests with an optician.
