Classic, French-inspired stripes lend Madeleine a sporty feel. The gentle A-line shape and slender sleeve make it easy to throw on over lightweight dresses and shirts when you need a bit of warmth. Snaps replace the usual buttons up the front for a cleaner finish, but you could, of course, add buttonholes and buttons. As with most Cocoknits patterns, it's pretty straightforward to knit Madeleine at an alternate gauge - using either a thicker or thinner yarn. See Materials and Gauge for more details.
