Approximate measures 16,5 x 20 x 5 cm. This piece is inspired by the ancient δαίμων (daemons). In Greco-Roman mythology, daemons were a type of entities whose function was to link the physical world of humans with the divine and spiritual world. They are incorporeal beings who guarded the lives of humans, also personified abstract and natural phenomena and served as messengers between worlds. These entities had a free will of their own and they were not driven by the dualistic conception of good and evil. These daemons are meant to accompany you and encourage your free will. This piece is entirely handmade by the artist using natural white clay and has been fired three times in a ceramic kiln at a temperature of between 900 and 1100 Celsius degrees. In the first firing (bisque) the ceramic pigments are settled and it is in the second firing that a layer of transparent glaze is applied, to achieve a shiny and waterproof finish. Finally, the piece is embellished with gold ceramic luster (which has real gold particles in it) obtained on a third fire at 750 Celsius degrees. As it is a handmade product, each piece is unique and has unrepeatable characteristics that make it a true artwork. Some pieces may have slight irregularities and, in some cases, there may be minor variations in colours or finishings with respect to the photographs. Each piece in this shop is checked and selected for its quality. Each of the pieces is accompanied by a small leaflet on paper with an exclusive design. The leaflet comes in two languages (English/Spanish) and the texts depicted are a small summary of the research and symbolism behind each of the pieces. *Please note that, as my work is produced in small series, slight variations from the photographed piece may occur. *Precautions when hanging the pieces.
