Drawing inspiration from historic Batchelder tiles and traditional woodcuts, this striking composition features a curious magpie, emerging from stylized olive branches, its form re ndered in bold relief upon a rich background. The contrastic colors highlight the dynamic interplay between positive and negative space, celebrating both the bird’s personality and the graphic power of the medium. Each tile is handmade in Deerfield, Wisconsin, using traditional, Arts and Crafts techniques.
