A handsome mahogany console table with elegant proportions and a warm, newly refreshed finish. It features a shaped gallery back, turned front supports with ebonised-style detailing, and two drawers to the frieze, making it an ideal piece for a hallway, landing or living space. The table offers plenty of practical storage and display space, with two full-width lower shelves that are perfect for baskets, books, shoes or decorative items. The drawers are a useful spot for keys and everyday bits, and the overall form has a refined, traditional look that suits both period and eclectic interiors. Constructed from a mixture of solid mahogany and mahogany veneer, the drawer bases are oak. The piece has been fully stripped and then lacquered, giving it a clean, even sheen while still allowing the grain and character of the timber to show through. On the shelves there are signs of historic woodworm; it was inactive when we acquired the table, but we have treated it thoroughly as a precaution. There are also areas of missing beading in places, along with the usual minor age-related marks you’d expect, all reflected in the photos.[dimensions][w]115[/w][h]110[/h][d]42[/d][/dimensions]
