These wheels are the result of extensive testing across hundreds of flights to achieve the ideal balance of durability, quiet operation, and—above all—exceptionally low weight. The tire is constructed from high-durability foamed thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU)—the same class of material used in shoe soles and automotive components. It offers outstanding resistance to abrasion and long-term wear, making it an excellent choice for both grass and asphalt runways. The foamed structure retains the best performance characteristics while significantly reducing weight. The final design came after dozens of iterations and testing across multiple Shore durometer ratings. The two available versions represent the ideal blend of grip, resilience, and low noise. Each tire is mounted on a precision one-piece wheel featuring a minimal, lightweight design. An integrated V-groove ensures the tire remains securely seated—even under side load. The wheels are manufactured from glass-reinforced nylon, a material known for exceptional impact strength and high-temperature resistance, making it ideal for direct contact with metal axles. The wheels were also intentionally designed slimmer than traditional foam wheels to remain compatible with the smaller wheel pants commonly found on many F3A aircraft. This eliminates the possibility of rubbing or damaging either the wheel or the pant. Every material design choice was carefully performed and tested specifically for this application. Fly smarter.
