Majesty Reflections came out of a night I wasn’t trying to make beautiful. I was carrying a lot of grief, my husband was away, and I needed somewhere for all of that energy to go. The figure, the layered surface, the oversized monstera shapes—none of it came from a neat plan. It came from momentum. What surprised me afterward was how composed she looked compared to how I felt while painting her. That contradiction became the reason the piece stayed with me: chaos in the making, but something almost regal in the result. The title Majesty came later, when I realized she had somehow ended up with a presence that felt completely in command of itself. “I painted her in the middle of grief.
