Discover the craft that started it all. Our Bottle Lamp Workshop is Braw Wee Craft Club's original signature class, first launched at our Barras Market shop in 2017. Since then, Jen has taught over 2,000 crafters, beginners and pros alike, how to turn a favourite bottle into a beautiful, working lamp. What to expect How long: 2.5 hours. Do I need to be good at this? No. Jen has taught over 2,000 people to do this since 2017 and almost none of them had done it before. What you actually do: Bring a bottle you love, or use one of ours. Pick your fabric, or bring your own. Build the shade, wire it up, switch it on. The moment your lamp lights up for the first time is the best bit and everyone claps. What you take home: A finished, working lamp. Not a kit to finish later. A lamp. What to wear: Whatever you like, this one is not messy. What the craic is like: Tea, coffee and good chat. Small group so you get plenty of one to one help. Bringing your own fabric? You need 970mm x 255mm, and a non stretchy cotton is easiest for a first shade. Fabric Bazaar and Mandor's in the city centre are both a short walk away.
