We tried 46 varieties of wood and levels of char to discover that 10 perfectly seared French, oak staves inserted into a barrel of fully matured Maker’s Mark® would yield a bourbon with a deeper, richer tone; and big, bold flavours of vanilla, oak caramel and spice.
