Inspire your creativity with Makey Makey®! Makey Makey STEM Pack: Classroom Invention Literacy Kit is an engaging, hands-on way to introduce larger groups of children and students aged 8 and over to the wonderful world of STEM. Whether it's in the classroom or through home-based learning, MaKey Makey's Classroom Invention Literacy kit is perfect for introducing students to the basic principles of programming through fun lesson plans suitable for up to 12 individual students (or more when applied to group learning). Using objects such as fruit, Play-doh, and other conductive materials from around the home or classroom, children can learn simple circuits through fun projects like creating a banana piano to their own game controllers. Students don't need any prior programming knowledge to use MaKey MaKey®, and no additional software is required as MaKey MaKey® is compatible directly with Windows and Mac operating systems. How does it work? The board, a simplified Arduino, is easily connected to a computer via USB (no driver required). Connect an alligator clip attached to a connector wire to one of the six Earth-connect options on the board. Connect a second alligator clip on another wire to any object, and the other end of that wire to part of the MaKey MaKey® board, for example the one labelled "Space". If you open a text editor now and touch the object, the MaKey MaKey® will send the command to enter a space. It's all very clever stuff!
