My version of a Traditional Shetland Hap. A Hap is a triangular shawl, wrapped around across the chest for warmth and comfort. I made half a Hap, called a Point. Added an i-cord on the top to delay damage from wear. I added a Lace Tree in the center panel. The basic shape is the same for all 3 sizes. The end sizes are made by more or less repeats. ALL repeats and sizes are charted and described. You only have to knit, you don’t need to do calculations yourself. In the grey Large shawl, several yarns are used, both the J&S 2ply Laceweight (ball) and JoS Ultra. The Sea coloured Medium is completely worked in J&S 2ply Supreme, as is the Small sized shawl. NOTE: The 2ply Supreme shawls are made with handdyed 2ply supreme yarn. MoniqueD, my friend, has dyed the colours for the Small size (RED) and has those available as a kit (without the pattern). The Medium sized shawl is handdyed by DebbieC. She cannot offer you this as a kit, but MoniqueD can. You can go to her website and see / ask what is available. The pattern exists of 19 pages, with colour examples, charts and instructions for each size. AMOUNTS. I will give a little bit more so you will not have to play yarn chicken (run out). Not by much, just 1 or 2gr.
