PAINTING DETAILS As part of my garden practice, I keep a detailed journal full of notes throughout the season: when seeds were planted, feeding and watering schedules, and successes and failures. Each January, I get out my notebook along with all my seed packets and current seed catalogs and spend time planning the garden for the upcoming year. It’s one of my favorite things about winter. This piece represents what I feel during those cold winter months: joy and warmth looking ahead toward longer days and future abundance of the land. “MAKING NOTES” is a framed 14”x11” original painting. It has been sealed and varnished to protect the work from dust, scratches, and UV light, making it a piece that will last a lifetime. The paint and varnish wrap all the way around the sides, top, and bottom of the canvas so that you can enjoy the texture and color of this piece from any angle should you ever choose to remove it from the frame.
