The Making Waves Quilt features a golden sun cresting over a rolling sea of hand-block printed waves, rendered in bold black and white with a single field of deep amber. The design draws from Japanese seigaiha wave patterns and the graphic economy of a perfect sunrise: two elements, one image, unmistakable from across a room. Every arc in that wave field was pressed by hand using a carved wooden block—repeated hundreds of times across the cotton surface by a master printer in Jaipur. The slight irregularities in ink and registration that you'll notice up close aren't flaws. They're the record of the process, and what makes this categorically different from anything printed by machine. After printing, the cotton shells are brought to the homes of skilled quiltmakers, who carefully stuff the quilts with cotton and stitch them entirely by hand using traditional techniques to create the finished piece. Our quilts are produced in small batches. Because each one is handmade, slight variations in color and print may occur—making every Making Waves Quilt a truly unique piece. - 100% cotton voile exterior- 100% cotton stuffing- Made in India- Ships from California- Twin size: 68″ x 86″- Queen size: 96″ x 96″- King size: 108″ x 108″
