Sangiovese full of ripe plummy fruits, spice and Mediterranean herbs, underpinned by a distinct olive-briney note and bloody minerality that ties the wine together. Super versatile , the 2023 Osarella succeeds is a touch lighter than previous vintages, without compromising on depth of flavour. ‘Osarella’ is the name of the hamlet in the municipality of Orvieto where the vineyard is located. The vineyard is south-facing and characterised by clayey soils rich in fossil shells. Made using 100% Sangiovese, the grapes are a blend of both destemmed and whole bunches. After a long, 25 day maceration, the grapes are aged on the lees in stainless steel tanks. A wonderfully raw yet pure expression of the grape. Show more
