Altberg Malham The Malham boot is a lightweight leather boot constructed on Altbergs A-forme last. Altberg spent three years developing this last. The forefoot is an asymmetric shape giving a nice rounded toe box yet retaining a narrow heel. The toe of the boot is sprung slightly upward giving the boot a very easy walking motion. The boot is made on Altbergs Tri-flex 2 midsole and we would recommend this boot as a Scottish two season mountain boot or all year round on lower hills and trails. The boot is ideal on mixed terrain with a Vibram outsole and a micro midlayer to give good shock absorption for rough or hard ground. The boot is as light as we would recommend for the Scottish hills and the rubber rand will give greater protection to the lower part of the boot. SIZE & FITTING ADVICE The AForme refers to the more asymmetric shape of the last. Many of the features are taken from running shoe characteristics, a narrower heel and waist to hold and support the rear of the foot, an increased upwards toe lift (rocker), reduced sideways pressure on the large toe, and a wider forefoot with slightly above medium volume.
