Limestone, weathered for centuries, cracks into patterns no hand could plan, fissures branching outward like a held breath of frost. This rug takes its shape from exactly that fracture. Hand-tufted by artisans in Jodhpur, its ivory wool field is etched with fine black and grey line-work, veining outward from a central seam the way cracked stone reveals its age. The silhouette itself refuses the rectangle, edges chipped and irregular as a fragment lifted straight from the ground. Against a Georgian cornice or concrete ceiling, it reads less as rug than as artefact, holding its own against the cleanest architectural lines. Five feet by eight at its furthest points, it asks to be walked around as much as walked on. In a Hampstead study, low lamplight catching every line, it settles like something the room had been waiting to find.
