The new Ed Smith ELS16 medium hard vibe mallet from Malletech has a complex, multi-layered construction that creates the "sweet sound spot". Vibe mallets tend to be eiither too har d and clanky at high volume or lacking in definition and clarity at low dynamics. These shortcomings were engineered out of the sound through a two-year process of research and development which combines three internal core components and a two-layered winding program.
