Malloreddus pasta originates from Sardinia and is made of semolina and water. Traditionally it is shaped into little 'canoes' by rolling small pieces of pasta onto the surface of a woven basket, thus creating its characteristic grooves. This malloreddus board mimics the texture of a woven basket, creating a similar depth of groove. These grooves are slightly wider and deeper than the result created by a classic gnocchi board.
