From the Cuban Missile Crisis to Desert Storm to Iraq, this squadron has deployed alongside MAG-26's flying squadrons, ensuring that every MV-22 Osprey is mission-ready and every maintenance action is completed to the highest standard. Originally activated as Headquarters Squadron 26 in 1952, the unit has evolved through multiple redesignations to become MALS-26 in 1988. The Patriots have participated in virtually every major MAG-26 operation, from the Dominican Republic and Beirut to Desert Storm and Operation Iraqi Freedom. The squadron completed over 105,000 maintenance actions and processed over 115,000 aviation supply demands in a single two-year period, earning a Meritorious Unit Commendation.
