The 2022 Malterdinger Chardonnay is a wine of precision, drive and finesse, with a touch of smoke balanced by a beautiful interplay of citrus and white stone fruits. The palate is creamy and textured with a long, crisp and chalky finish; wild-fermented and matured sur lie in small oak barrels (30% new). Julian Huber, who now helms his late, great father, Bernhard Huber's winery, is considered by some of the most respected voices in wine culture to be a benchmark in fine Spätburgunder (aka Pinot Noir) and Chardonnay production not just in Germany, but throughout Europe.
