Some OG customers might remember when we first launched back in 2015 and how our paste was drier and more sticky. The stuff that Kelly Slater fell in love with during long tropical surfs. You apply it and it stays on all day. That's what we've gone for here. A hardcore summer paste that keeps you covered. In the fall we'll be releasing our softer winter paste. What's new in this version is the supply chain. We learned that our coconut oil was grown in SE Asia in large monocultures by peasant farmers treated questionably, where it was then industrially refined and shipped halfway across the world. Even in Hawaii most coconut oil comes from California via Asia then back to Hawaii. Now our tallow comes from a small regenerative family farm a three hour drive south in Lookingglass Oregon. The kaolin clay comes from the only mine of its kind west of the Mississippi. The raspberry seed oil and rosemary extract come from The Pacific Northwest. The beeswax comes from local West Coast hives. We've also reaccessed what's on the label. Our original formula was rated SPF50, which we've ditched. Every time we wanted to make a new product we were playing the game put in place by large sunscreen companies, costing us tens of thousands of dollars and months of delays. Processes which can be expedited and side-stepped if you have the right lawyers and enough money. By trusting our customers and ourselves, we are doing away with an industry that been proven NOT to be safe for humans or our environment. The result is the same dense, tan, faintly chocolatey paste it's always been. Same exact active ingredients in the same proportions, more integrity behind more ingredients, and less BS.
