The Manfrotto 488RC4 Ball Head is a professional-grade support solution designed for photographers who need strength, reliability, and quick adjustability in the field or studio. Built around a large, high-load ball mechanism, the 488RC4 offers smooth movement with strong locking performance, making it well-suited for heavier DSLR setups, medium format systems, and even lighter video rigs. The oversized main locking knob provides precise control over tension, while the separate friction adjustment allows you to fine-tune resistance for balanced compositions without sudden drops. This version features the RC4 quick release system, which uses Manfrotto’s larger rectangular plate design for increased surface area and stability compared to smaller RC2 systems. The included quick release plate makes it easy to mount and remove your camera quickly while maintaining a secure connection. The all-metal construction and robust design make this a dependable choice for demanding shooting environments, whether mounted on a studio tripod or taken out on location. Condition: Good This ball head shows noticeable cosmetic wear from regular use, including scuffs and finish loss on the exterior surfaces. Despite the wear, all mechanical functions remain solid. The ball movement is smooth, and the locking mechanism holds securely without slipping. The quick release system functions properly, and the included plate mounts and releases as intended.
