Mangifera odorata also known as Kwini is native to tropical Asia, specifically to West Malaysia. The fruit has a green to yellow skin in colour with the flesh of the fruit having a n orange to dark yellow colour. The fruit is sour or sweet when eaten depending on ripeness. The flowers and fruit have a pleasant fragrance. This fruit has never been found in the wild. Botanists are of the opinion that kwini has originated as a hybrid between Mangifera indica and Mangifera foetida. Show more
