Burlwood results from harvesting a tree or a portion of a tree that has a burl. A burl is a growth on a tree formed from unsprouted bud tissue. The burl forms large, knobby-looking growths on the base and trunk of the tree. When sliced open, the wild grains are realized and create a unique pattern that cannot be replicated. As with all hand-crafted pieces, the wood grains of each clock will have its own unique spin, as no two clocks will ever be identical! Strong clock mechanisms and unique hands are incorporated.
