Filter Finished Maple Syrup Faster and Cleaner The Layer3D UP Maple Syrup Vacuum Filter Bucket is designed to simplify the filtration of finished maple syrup by using a standard we t/dry shop vacuum to gently assist syrup through a multi stage filter system. The result is a steady, efficient filtration process that helps remove sugar sand (nitre) and other fine debris before bottling. Developed and tested in our own maple operation, this system offers hobby maple producers a simple, reliable alternative to gravity filtration while remaining easy to use, clean, and maintain. Features Vacuum assisted filtration for improved flow Built around a food grade HDPE bucket Multi stage filtration using industry standard prefilters and an Orlon main filter Brass vacuum relief valve helps protect the bucket from excessive vacuum Easy to clean and maintain Designed and manufactured in Michigan by Layer3D UP How It Works A standard wet/dry shop vacuum creates a gentle vacuum inside the bucket, helping draw finished maple syrup through a multi stage filter stack. The filter stack is supported by a honey filter sieve that is secured to the bucket using four custom PETG retaining clips. Syrup first passes through the prefilters, which capture larger particles and sugar sand before reaching the Orlon filter for the final stage of filtration, helping improve syrup clarity before bottling. For best results, filter syrup at approximately 190°F, pre wet the filters before use, and use a 4 to 6 peak HP wet/dry shop vacuum. The system is designed to assist filtration, not force syrup through plugged filters.
