Mapping in Blue, the new series of mixed media works from Haukaas, is an artistic hat tip to both the color blue and the ancient Egyptian culture that first introduced it to the wo rld. In her own words: It is cool and calm and it is the color of the moonlight. Blue light shows you my heart rate. It is the color of my reflections and my diplomacy. It is the color of my bruises and my melancholy. It takes me from the peaks of the mountain to the bottom of the valley and back. Blue is the color of ancient Egypt. It is the color of desire.
