Marble cutting boards is a second version of the cutting boards in collaboration with Valerie Traan from 2011. This object is part of the first Muller Van Severen exhibition at gallery Valerie Traan in Antwerp, creating a wall sculpture of just one material. The cutting boards are a set of different kinds of marble, made to hang on a brass pin against the wall. The organic forms create a ‘bas relief’. Every plate has been meticulously shaped in order to create depth of field. When one board is taken away, the sculpture changes its appearance. Due to the nature of marble, the vein patterns and colors will vary on each set, making each piece unique. This object is handmade in Belgium and has passed through the hands of many skilled artisans before arriving in our studio. Here, your item is meticulously finished, inspected, and carefully packed before being shipped to you.
