Designed by Marc Thorpe for Moroso in 2010, the Mark Side Table began as a response to a specific spatial problem: the need for a raised surface that could serve low lounge seating without imposing its own presence on a room. The result is a cantilevered form of considered proportion, where function and silhouette arrive at the same answer. Thorpe, a New York-based designer whose work moves between product design, architecture, and art, brings a structural sensibility to the piece. The cantilever is not decorative. It is load-bearing logic made visible, giving the table its clean profile and its quiet sense of precision.
