As much as I love to be a tourist at all the touristy destinations I love being amongst family more. Our trip to Bohol had us swimming at the most beautiful cave and spending the day meeting extended family. We went to our first ukay-ukay, the Filipino version of op shops and roamed through the market. Oh how I love myself a good market! At this particular market I saw the biggest squid hoods I'd ever seen in my life, marveled at all the different produce for sale and admired all the colorful homewares. I got to have a sneak peak into fiesta eve preparations and cooking pigs on a spit (lechon). Utterly fascinating and labour intensive. They sit spinning the pig for two hours. I reckon my arm would be buggered after 10 mins. Tagbilaran City, Bohol, Philippines.
