While Xinomavro has become a mainstay of the serious wine scene and so shouldn't really require comparison to other varieties, the likeness to Nebbiolo is undeniable in its elegant transparency, concentration of flavours and tannin profile. It is also an incredible transmitter of place - so really unmistakably Greek with its herb, olive and fig profile that comes through with a few years in bottle. This is an absolute classic example.
