The Marshall Plan, also known as the European Recovery Program, was a U.S. initiative to provide aid to Western Europe after the devastation of World War II. In order to promote th e plan, a poster contest was held throughout Europe which represented the theme of cooperation and economic recovery. Over 10,000 pieces were submitted, and a panel of twelve graphic artists from around the world served as judges. 25 posters were selected for publication.
