 Emil Blonsky transformed into the the Abomination when he activated Bruce Banner's gamma ray machine to become the next Incredible Hulk. The machine Bombarded Blonsky with a high er dose of gamma rays than Banner when he was transformed into the Hulk. This experiment backfired on Blonksy and he was forced to remain in this monstrous form, which at times makes him more powerful than the Hulk.
