Hand-carved in Val Gardena, this 10 cm Mary for the Nativity is made from maple wood, chosen for its fine finish and ability to hold carved detail. It reflects the region’s long tr adition of faith and craftsmanship. Mary kneels, slightly bent forward, hands joined in prayer; her round, serene face with closed eyes conveys quiet contemplation, rendered cleanly by skilled sculptors. Part of the Aurora nativity line, all figures have interchangeable magnetic heads so children can mix and match for interactive play. The robes are oil-painted in soft, warm tones—a mantle that shifts from aqua green to olive and a reddish-orange dress—finished matte and patinated to let the wood grain show.
